How Do You Make Felt Flowers?

This tutorial will teach you how to make three types of felt flowers. The simple process varies slightly for each one to reveal a different end product.

The first flower we will show you how to make has rounded edges (petals) when finished. The second has square edges (petals).

Flower 1

Begin by cutting a piece of felt to 2″ x 10″ and fold it in half lengthwise.

With your craft scissors, snip into the fold about 2/3″. Repeat every 1/4″ down the length of the felt.

Beginning at one end, roll the felt onto itself and secure it with hot glue.

Continue to roll the felt and glue it as you go. Secure the end well with hot glue to hold.

Then fluff open the top of the flower to your liking.

Flower 2

For the second flower, again cut a piece of felt to 2″ x 10″ and fold it in half lengthwise.

Do not cut on the fold this time. Instead, snip the open side about 2/3″ down toward the fold.

Repeat at 1/4″ intervals down the length of the felt.

Next, roll one end of the felt onto itself, and secure it with hot glue.

Continue to roll and glue until you reach the end.

Flower 3

Start by cutting out a circle of felt that is 5″ in diameter.

Then cut a coil pattern from the outside of the circle and making your way to the center. It does not have to be perfect.

Now place a small dot of got glue on the outside end where you began cutting. Roll the felt around the circle, gluing as you go, until you reach the center.

Be sure to secure the end with glue.

Leaves

For the leaves, cut various sizes of curved diamond shapes in different shades of green felt. There is no need for a pattern. Just wing it!

Add leaves to your flowers by gluing them to the back with a dot of hot glue.

How Do You Make A Felt Flower Wreath?

Now that your flowers are made, you can assembly the hoop wreath.

First, lay out your felt flowers and arrange them on the hoop until you are satisfied with the look.

Feel free to get creative by adding greenery or bows made of ribbon. Pom poms make adorable flower centers too.

Use the glue gun to attach each flower to your hoop.
